Instructors’ primary responsibilities are to provide active and effective learning for students in all applicable educational settings, act as professional and academic role models and commit to student satisfaction.  This includes; teaching in classrooms, labs, clinical and online settings as well as outside the classroom during campus and student activities.

The Diagnostic Medical Sonography Instructor ensures the students are educated in both didactic and lab material.  The primary focus is to prepare the students for their clinical experience with lab practice, classroom lectures and simulated learning.  All faculty must be familiar with program goals, be able to demonstrate the ability to develop an organized plan of instruction and evaluation and have appropriate credentials for the learning areas they teach.

Requirements:

• Must have an associate degree in DMS or a related field
• Minimum credentials of Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (RDMS) with specialty certifications in either/both OB/Gyn & Abdominal and/or Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
• Four years of professional experience as a general sonographer, cardiac sonographer, pediatric cardiac sonographer and/or vascular technologist is required
• Teaching/Management experience preferred
• Experience with educating students in a clinical setting preferred
