Outside Sales Representative – Commercial HVAC

Sunbelt Rentals, the fastest-growing equipment rental business in North America, is looking for an Outside Sales Representative to join our Climate Control Sales Team with a territory that covers a two-hour drive radius from Washington, IL (East of Peoria, IL). RELOCATION ASSISTANCE IS AVAILABLE TO QUALIFIED CANDIDATES. 

What You'll Do

As an Outside Sales Representative, you'll be responsible for renting and selling our diverse line of portable air conditioners, dehumidifiers, air scrubbers, and temporary heaters within your assigned territory. Your customer base will be dynamic, including commercial clients, construction contractors, and government facilities, and event companies.

• Grow and Cultivate: You'll be actively developing new business opportunities, while nurture existing accounts
• Collaborate for Success: Work closely with our General Tool Division and other Specialty Divisions to deliver comprehensive, turn-key solutions using Sunbelt's wide array of equipment and services. This means partnering with Sales Reps and Managers across the organization to maximize our penetration within both new and existing customer bases.

Compensation & Benefits

• Base Pay Range: $42,000 - $50,000 per year
• Your total compensation package includes your base pay, plus a robust commission plan. Successful first year Outside Sales Representative average $85,000 - $110,000/year.
• Starting pay may vary based on factors such as position offered, location, education, training, and/or experience.

What We're Looking For:

• Experience:
• 2+ years of outside B2B sales experience in HVAC, construction, equipment rental or other “leather glove” industry
• Minimum high school diploma/g.e.d., vocational/technical degree, or bachelor’s degree

• Skills:
• A proven sales track record using a solution-selling approach.
• Experience with high-volume sales.
• Strong project management, new business development, and customer retention abilities.

• Logistics:
• A current and valid driver's license in good standing, along with proof of auto insurance.

• Physical Demands:
  • This role may require bending, squatting, crouching, reaching, lifting 25 pounds or more, and working indoors/outdoors as required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to comply with applicable laws.
