Presidio is seeking a System Engineer for their client in Nashville, TN. Hybrid schedule. 

Presidio’s customer is seeking a skilled System Engineer to support its Server Infrastructure team on a temporary contract basis. This is a hands-on engineering role focused on virtualization, compute, and storage systems during a critical infrastructure modernization period. This Engineer will contribute to daily operational support, assist with system upgrades, and participate in infrastructure migrations.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform hands-on systems engineering tasks across compute, storage, and virtualization environments
• Assist with VMware environment upgrades and infrastructure modernization activities
• Work collaboratively with vendors to complete technical milestones
• Support day-to-day infrastructure operations, including troubleshooting and resolving technical issues
• Participate in system design, configuration, implementation, and documentation
• Align assigned tasks with project goals and communicate effectively with internal team members
• Contribute to risk identification, technical planning, and documentation efforts

Technical Requirements

The ideal candidate will have experience with:

• Systems Administration involving:
  • Dell PowerEdge and Cisco UCS-X compute platforms
  • Pure FlashArray and Dell PowerStore block storage
  • Isilon/PowerScale for unstructured data
  • Discovery, documentation, and roadmap planning
  • Infrastructure migration tasks, including:
    • Integrating external compute with direct-attached Pure Storage
    • Decommissioning legacy servers and storage systems

Minimum Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in infrastructure systems engineering or administration
• Demonstrated hands-on expertise with VMware, compute, and enterprise storage technologies
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in enterprise environments
• Experience with technical documentation and infrastructure support
• Familiarity with ITIL-based service delivery and structured project environments
• Public sector experience is preferred
• Certifications in related technologies (VMware, Microsoft, Dell EMC, Cisco) are a plus, but not required

Duration: 3 -6 month contract
