JT4 is seeking a Network Engineer for their Edwards Air Force Base location in California.
Must be a US citizen.
Evaluates enterprise architecture and design specifications, installs enterprise network equipment, configures network equipment, establishes standards, ensures hardware/software compatibility and maintains network connectivity, focusing on the availability and security of the network.
Employee will be responsible for performing the following functions/duties:
- Leads multi-lateral teams in support of systems, networks, equipment, test gear, materials, and new configurations of current and future technologies in support of network- intensive systems. These technologies are focused on all major systems and sub-systems of the Electronic Warfare (EW) Group in support of engineering, operations, maintenance, and sustainment
- Ensure the EW Group is selecting the best solutions, operating in the most efficient and effective configuration with both personnel and systems and delivering complex solutions to enable mission success for the real-time customer
- Responsible for evaluating system specifications and installations, enterprise computer and communications systems, establishing standards, and ensuring hardware/software and current/future architecture in support of system and the network engineering standards
- Responsible for network engineering, developing and managing a technical and robust network solution for the program's project framework
- Responsible for designing computer networks and communication systems to include local area networks (LANs), wide area networks (WANs), Internet and Intranet capabilities, and performing network modelling, analysis and planning in developing a networking and communication systems roadmap to include network infrastructure growth and innovative systems and methodologies
- Designs, installs and maintains network systems in a classified environment.
- Reports on operational status, project status, evaluates project risks, and escalates project issues
- Performs the daily operational checks and support on the network infrastructure to include system security, access, configuration, backups and restores
- Specifies network requirements, monitors local area network (LAN) performance, troubleshoots networking hardware and ensures system is working properly according to specifications and parameters
- Integrates 3rd party systems into enterprise architecture while maintaining security posture and availability
- Organizes and secures directory structure and assists/trains staff members in the use of department Document Management (DM) Systems, associated databases and Configuration Management (CM)/ DM release procedures
- Serves as a point of contact (POC) for problem reporting, incremental version updates and monitors yearly support contracts
- Makes recommendations for future network hardware/software implementations and related process improvements, schedules, plans and performs system upgrades including the transition from design, test, production and documentation environments
- Uses established policies, procedures, and subject matter knowledge to complete complex assignments requiring originality and ingenuity performed under minimum supervision with considerable latitude for independent contribution
- Analyzing system logs and identifying potential issues with network infrastructure.
- Manage and administer network to storage solutions including Network-Attached Storage and Storage Area Network (NAS/SAN) systems
- Other duties as required
REQUIREMENTS: EDUCATION, TECHNICAL, AND WORK EXPERIENCE
A bachelor’s degree in associated discipline from an accredited academic institution or equivalent experience through technical training, completion of a recognized certification program, or experience. Requires at least 5-12 years of experience in computer system related areas of expertise and must possess and apply a broad knowledge of principles, practices, and procedures in computer science, graphics, and information systems.
In addition, Network Engineer must possess the following qualifications:
- 1-3 years of senior level network engineering experience with proven experience with networking hardware, software, and protocols (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls, MPLS, BGP, OSPF)
- Required to obtain and maintain a Security+ certification
- CCNA or equivalent networking certification required
- Experience working with networks of various classifications
- Certifications (preferred): CCNP Enterprise with concentrations in Routing, Switching, and Design or higher
- Advanced troubleshooting and analytical skills
- Proficiency in network security principles and practices
- Familiarity working within a console/shell of a Red Hat Linux server and/or similar platform
- Knowledge working within a government enterprise network specifically interpreting and applying controls requirements within an ATO (Authorization to Operate)
- Must possess planning/organizing skills and must be able to work under deadlines
- Must be able to communicate technical concepts to people with various levels of understanding of those concepts
- Mentors and develop the skills of junior network engineers, including developing training plans
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a government Top Secret SCI along with SAP access security clearance
- Must possess valid, state-issued driver’s license
- Must be a US citizen
SALARY
The expected salary range for this position is $130K- $160K annually.

JT4 LLC considers factors such as (but not limited to) responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and business considerations when extending an offer.
